Coppenbrügge solar park

Germany - Niedersachsen

To the west of Coppenbrügge, between Main Road 1 and Main Road 423, Sunvest plans to develop a 74-hectare solar park. The local council has given initial approval. The site, currently used for grazing and farming, already has three wind turbines set for repowering. Once approved, we will build an environmentally friendly solar farm in line with the farming community’s interests.

Impact

icon renewable energy

Renewable energy

The Coppenbrügge solar park is expected to produce around 90,000 MWh annually, enough to power 30,000 households. If Agri Solar is implemented, the yield will be lower.

Sustainable farming

The land could be used as agricultural pasture with herb-rich grassland, mowed for livestock feed or grazed directly by sheep and chickens..

icon biodiversity

Biodiversity

The herb-rich grassland will require little to no fertilization, improving soil quality and increasing insect life. Combined with the addition of surrounding scrub, this will attract various bird species.

Local community

Later, local residents will be invited to lend to the park, earning a good interest rate over 10 to 15 years. With few nearby residents, we’ll focus on those in Coppenbrügge.
