Solar park Montoir
France
Impact
Renewable energy
The photovoltaic farm will have a capacity of 46.6 MWp. It will produce around 49 GWh per year, satisfying the electricity needs of around 10,000 households.
Sustainable farming
The 140 acres of land owned by local landowners and the council will support both a young sheep farmer’s flock expansion and green electricity production.
Biodiversity
The solar panels will be placed away from existing hedgerows and copses, with a control area, wet meadow, and new hedgerows planted around the perimeter to boost biodiversity.
Local community
After local consultation, authorities designated an acceleration area for renewable energy, where the Montoir photovoltaic farm was established through public meetings.
In the words of the mayor
Maxence GILLE
“The photovoltaic farm project conducted by Sunvest, in conjunction with the local council, provides a practical response to the challenges of the energy transition. It illustrates what can be done locally to contribute to national renewable energy deployment targets. What’s more, the Sunvest teams have an educational and professional approach and firmly believe in taking local expectations into account.”
