Solar park La Garenne

Sunvest is developing the La Garenne solar park in the municipalities of Tendu and Velles (Indre department). With the capacity it provides, this photovoltaic farm will enable the local area to make a significant contribution to the installed solar capacity in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

Impact

Renewable energy

The photovoltaic farm will have a capacity of 50 MWp. It will produce around 60 GWh per year, satisfying the electricity needs of around 12,400 households.

Sustainable farming

The 70 hectares site, with limited agronomic potential, will be converted to grass to allow both expansion of the flock of a Tendu sheep farmer and production of green electricity.

Biodiversity

Panels will be set back, away from the existing hedgerows. A setback zone will be left around a pond on the edge of the area being studied to protect the habitat of a reptile.

Local community

Since the studies began and the site was defined, Sunvest has maintained regular contact with local councils and nearby residents. Public meetings will be held throughout the project’s development.
