Biodiversity

Principles

Our parks harmonise with local nature, enhancing local biodiversity
At each of our solar parks, we implement concrete and verifiable measures to enhance local biodiversity
Our goal at every park is to conduct agricultural activities in a way that respects nature and the natural surroundings
During construction, we utilise tools that are as nitrogen-neutral as possible
We use local species when planting and sowing
If Sunvest owns the solar park, we will make the land available for nature-friendly agriculture once the solar power utilization period ends
High-quality maintenance of greenery and green spaces is as important as good design and construction

Solutions

We always take specific measures at our solar parks in order to ensure to the satisfaction of ourselves and others that biodiversity is being improved in practice. Hereunder you can find some examples. In the end each solar park will have its own unique design, depending on local and specifics needs.

1. Under and between the panels

Crops, grass or flower-rich and herb-rich grassland.
Distances between panel rows that provide space for nature friendly agriculture.
There are dedicated areas for water, plants, shrubs and trees that are harmonised  with the local ecosystems.

2. At the plot borders

Integration with the surrounding landscape, using natural fencing, plants, shrubs and trees
Incorporation of environmentally friendly (em)bank(ment)s in our ditches.
Field edges adorned with native flowers and herbs.

3. During operational period

Regular biodiverse-friendly maintenance
Regular annual monitoring of the implemented biodiversity measures and their impact
When our solar parks reach the end of their lifecycle, we reclaim and reuse the materials.
